TIHIG UK Production Catering
Six Weeks of Grit, Grace and Good Food
We prepped and cooked more than seven thousand meals across this six-week production. We approached the job with a simple intention: challenge accepted. A project of this scale never runs without its hurdles. Supplier shortages, staff no-shows, shifting information and unexpected turns all tried to pull us off course. We took each one in stride and pushed forward.
The real story sits with the team. We have learned that with the right people around us, even a fifteen-hour day can feel like home. The energy in a kitchen sets the tone for everything else. Without the right rhythm, you lose quality, you lose efficiency and you lose spirit. The team is the nucleus. When one person struggles, everyone rallies. That is what a real kitchen feels like at its best.
Life will always throw challenges to test how we respond in the moment. What stays with us is the sense of accomplishment when the dust settles. The gratitude from cast and crew fuelled us daily. Their appreciation gave us the fire to show up strong and bring each dish to life.
Some highlights still make us smile. Jollof and jerk day. Good Burger day. Kebab day, which was a clear favourite. Who doesn’t love a kebab. Our desserts also held their own. Rich apple crumble, Guinness cake, sticky toffee pudding. Nothing went to waste.
This job reminded us again what it means to remember home. It is not only about the food. It is the heart, the team, the resilience and the purpose behind every plate.
